Impact Science Education

Impact Science is a middle school science curriculum that teaches engineering alongside science. It is not a textbook, but daily lesson plans that allow teachers to be effective in engaging all their students. The lessons give students opportunities to problem solve, to theorize, to innovate and design solutions. This is a high-quality low-cost alternative to textbooks and programs that require device 1:1. But it can also be used alongside a textbook or digital program to give students real hands-on experiences with science and engineering. The program is under development. We have completed 30% of it in the startup 2015-16 self-funded phase. We are seeking funding to hire more staff, ramp up development, and complete the rest by Fall 2017. Several school districts have expressed interest and are trying out pilot units. They have expressed interest in using the complete program and would be likely to purchase if it were on track for completion by the fall.
