According to data from the latest report by Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) on the global market of alternative finance and crowdfunding, the Czech Republic had a total funding volume of €51.5 million in 2018, up from €26.5 million in 2017, which corresponds to a significant growth rate of 94.2%. This places Czech Republic’s crowdfunding market as number 19 in Europe and as number 40 in the worldwide crowdfunding statistics. The countries topping the list in Europe are the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Italy.

Best P2P Lending Platforms in the Czech Republic

Here, you will find a list of the top peer-to-peer lending platforms in the Czech Republic. Under each platform, you will find a brief description of the platform and the type of peer-to-peer lending available for investing on the platform. The list is sorted alphabetically, but to promote platforms contributing to transparency in the market, we have placed the platforms sharing data about their funding volume and other relevant statistics on the top. Bondster

Bondster facilitates crowdfunding in the area of loan originator lending at a minimum investment of €5. The platform offers financing to payday loans, short-term unseceured personal loans, real estate loans, business loans and long-term secured personal loans from various loan originators around the world. Bondster was founded in 2017 CEP Invest Private Equity as a Czech Republic company. The office and company is located in Prague, Czech Republic but also offers financing in Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Mexico, The Philippines, Poland, Russia & South Africa. All loans are in Euro(EUR) or Czech Koruna(CZK).

Any person of at least 18 years with a valid ID and a bank account in any of the European Economic Area (EEA) countries can invest on Bondster.

No one can borrow directly on Bondster, to have a loan on Bondster the borrower would have to had borrowed from a loan originator that the platform is collaborating with.

Finbee

Finbee facilitates crowdfunding in the area of consumer lending at a minimum investment of 100 CZK. The platform offers financing for personal needs, car purchase, rebuilding, unexpected expenses, vacation, credit card refinancing and more. Finbee was founded in 2015 by laimonas noreika as a Lithuanian company. The headquarter is located in Lithuania, but the Czech department office and company is located in Prague, Czech Republic, so they also offer financing in Lithuania. All loans are in Czech Koruna(CZK).

Any person of at least 18 years with a valid ID and a bank account in any of the European Economic Area (EEA) countries can invest on Finbee.

Any person from Czech Republic with a financing volume from 10,000 Kč to 300,000 Kč and a duration of 12 to 60 months can apply for a loan on Finbee CZ.

Zonky

Zonky facilitates crowdfunding in the area of consumer lending at a minimum investment of 200 CZK. The platform offers financing for almost anything such as studying, buying a car, electronics, furniture, refurbishing an apartment, vacation and so on. Zonky was founded in 2015 by Lucie Tvarůžková as a Czech Republic company. The office and company is located in Prague, Czech Republic and exclusively offers financing to Czech residents. All loans are in Czech Koruna(CZK).

Any person of at least 18 years resident of the European Union and with a valid Passport or ID card can Invest on Zonky.

Any person of at least 18 years old who resides in Czech Republic can apply for a loan between 20,000 CZK and 750,000 CZK with a repayment period up to 7 years.

SymCredit

SymCredit facilitates crowdfunding in the area of business lending at a minimum investment of 100 EUR / 100 USD or 1000 CZK. The platform offers financing to all sorts of business purposes among asset purchases, refinancing, acquisition, growth and more. SymCredit was founded in 2015 by Symfonie Capital Group as a Czech company. The office and company is located in Prague, Czech Republic but the mother company is located in London, UK yet exclusively offers financing to Czech Republic businesses. All loans are in CZK, but also investable in USD and EUR.

Any person of at least 18 years that register on the platform and pass AML procedures can invest on SymCredit.

Any company registered in Czech Republic can apply if the following conditions are fulfilled:

  • Registered with the Tax Authority in Czech Republic
  • Have been established and trading for at least 2 years or be able to secure the loan with real estate
  • Directors resident in the Czech Republic
  • No oustanding debt, legal judgements, tax, claims or executions.
  • A clean and good credit history
  • Be able to provide personal guarantee from director or shareholders if necessary

Bankerat

Bankerat facilitates crowdfunding in the area of consumer lending at a minimum investment of CZK 10,000. The platform offers financing to any purpose and with different safety depending on what kind of proof or collateral the borrower can give from loans without any proof or proof of income to real estate backed loans. Bankerat was founded in 2010 by Roman Kakos as a Czech company. The office and company is located in Prague, Czech Republic and exclusively offers financing to Czech residents. All loans are in Czech Koruna(CZK).

Any person of at least 18 years old from Czech Republic and with a European Bank account can invest on Bankerat.

Any Czech resident can apply for a loan on Bankerat in one of the five different interest and risk profiles:

  • Loan without registers and without proof of income
  • Loan without proof of income
  • Loan without registers
  • Loan with proof of income and registers
  • Real estate collateral

Taxation on P2P Lending in the Czech Republic

Interest income generated from peer-to-peer lending or other sources is taxed at a standard rate of 15% in the Czech Republic. The tax might be withheld by some platforms.
